Keep It Up

By secretary | 08.17.16

It is that time of year again!  School is back in session and it is full speed ahead!  The school supplies highlight every store front.  Just about every establishment has some sort of back-to-school special deal or discount.  I cannot help but get a little excited about school days.  The nostalgic feelings associated with this time of year are some of the best!

Why is it so hard to maintain this excitement for learning?  In a few weeks the same school days we are excited about now become the daily grind.  The mornings seem earlier.  The days seem longer.  If we could manage to keep up the enthusiasm for learning through a whole school year it would be a breakthrough!

When we start studying our God, or recommit to learning more about him, it is very exciting.  However, our enthusiasm often wanes.  Any excuse will do.  The challenge I’ve issued for myself and extend to you for this school year: keep it up!  Keep the energy and enthusiasm UP.  Easier said than done, right?  It shouldn’t have to be for the committed Christian that is on fire for the Lord.

Remember Revelation 3:15-16:  “15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot.  I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.”

If it is school, work, home, hospital, etc. you are running the race!
