On Sundays, our morning worship service begins at 9am. Gathering in the auditorium, we sing together, we pray together, and we take the Lord’s Supper together each week. During the middle of our service, we also allow our members a chance to contribute financially to the work of the church. In the latter part of our service, we are presented with a Bible-based sermon, usually by our pulpit minister, Don Loftis. At the end of the sermon, we always offer an invitation so that if there are any needs to be met, people have a chance to let us know how we can help. While we are gathered, we also take an opportunity to make special announcements concerning upcoming events and people with special prayer needs.
After our morning worship, Bible classes begin at 10:15am. We have classes for all ages that focus on both a proper understanding and a practical application of Scripture. In our classes for children, teachers follow a set curriculum by 21st Century Christian. In our adult classes, we allow our teachers the freedom to choose the topics they teach about, but all of our teachers follow some general parameters to ensure we are covering a variety of topics and areas of Scripture. You can see the general plan for our adult Bible studies here.
On Sunday evenings, we meet at 6pm (April to October) or at 5pm (November to March). Our evening worship service is similar to our morning service. We typically sing more songs, and we also have more public Scripture readings. The sermon will be new and different from the morning sermon. The Lord’s Supper is made available after the service to those who were unable to take it in the morning service. The benefit of the evening service is that it provides us with more time to do in depth study of the Bible, and it also provides nice opportunities for our members to greet and visit with each other. For children 6th grade and under, we have a Bible Hour program that meets during worship on Sunday nights where they can be engaged in age-appropriate material and fun, hands-on learning opportunities.
On Wednesday evenings, we meet at 7pm, initially in the auditorium. We begin with a brief worship period, including a short devotional talk from our associate minister, Mark Adams, and an invitation for anyone who needs to respond. At around 7:15, we break and go to our Bible classes, available for all ages, which last until 8pm.
In each of these settings, we would be glad to meet you, and to get to know you before and after our services, but we will never embarrass you by making you raise your hand or stand up just for visiting. In fact, if you’re a first time visitor, on Sunday mornings, we have special gifts prepared that you can pick up after the service.
