Youth Ministry

The purpose of our youth ministry is to engage, encourage, educate, expand, and invite. All of our activities serve to promote this purpose, which support an abundant life as promised from John 10:10. Mason teaches the 6th-12th grade Bible classes on Sunday morning and Wednesday nights. He also holds a study we call Rooted during a weeknight where the teens study a deep Biblical topic to encourage mature spiritual growth. Retreats and stateside mission trips are favorites of the teens, and church camp is a favorite week for teens and adult volunteers.

Mason is credentialed as a Board Certified Christian Counselor through the Board of Christian Professional and Pastoral Counselors. He provides counseling to our church and the community as he completes state requirements for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Therapist (LCPT) and a Licensed Professional Counselor/Mental Health Service Provider (LPC/MHSP). Mason provides counseling for couples and individuals who are dealing with crisis, grief, depression, anxiety, spiritual struggles. His specific training includes the Gottman Method Couples Therapy levels 1 and 2, Prepare/Enrich for premarital counseling, Suicide Prevention and Intervention, Crisis and Trauma counseling, and Biblical and Spiritual counseling through the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). Mason is a member of the AACC, the Tennessee Licensed Professional Counselors Association (TLPCA), and the Tennessee Association of Pastoral Therapists (TNAPT). He currently practices under the supervision of Bud Lambert, LPC/MHSP of New Creature Counseling and Ryan Fraser, PhD, LCPT of Freed-Hardeman University.

Old Hickory Counseling Ministry

We believe that there is safety in the presence of counselors that are strongly devoted to wholistic wellness and submission to the Wonderful Counselor (Proverbs 11:14; Isaiah 9:6), and that God is available and waiting to be invited by you to continue his transformative process (Psalm 34:18; Romans 12:2). This counseling ministry offers help for those who are struggling in their faith, as well as a variety of very present life issues. Our counseling ministry is available by appointment only, and there are a limited number of client openings available. If you feel that now is the time to find help, give us a call at 615-847-2386 or email Mason at
