"It Takes a Village: Faith Village!" Faith village is the theme of the children's Bible program at the Old Hickory Church of Christ. Faith Village provides various Bible learning experiences for kindergarten - 5th grade children. During each class session the children experience the Bible lesson in exciting and innovative ways.
Mother's Day Out
The Old Hickory Church of Christ Day School opened its doors in 1969. Now fifty years later, it continues to serve the community as an affordable loving place for children. The Day School meets on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00-2:00.
We have three classes for children ages two through four. Each class has age appropriate classwork with our four year olds preparing for kindergarten. In addition to class time, the school receives visits from community helpers such as police officers and firefighters. We also have a variety of fun activities and parties for the holidays and special times.
Old Hickory Towers
The eleven story high rise on Industrial Blvd. provides apartment space for about 200 residents. It specializes in working with senior citizens and those with special needs. The Towers has become one of our favorite ministry areas.
- We conduct worship services in their dining/fellowship area each Sunday at 1:00.
- Throughout the regular school year, we host a Bible class on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00.
- Every Thursday we provide transportation on our bus for the residents to go to the grocery store.
Life Care Center
Life Care Center is a short-term rehabilitation and long-term care facility located in Old Hickory, TN. It focuses on providing skilled nursing care for its many patients. Life Care Center is a special ministry for Old Hickory Church of Christ and we love the residents.
We conduct a weekly worship service that includes singing, communion, and an inspirational message.
Meals On Wheels
Old Hickory Church of Christ provides both financial and volunteer support to the Meals On Wheels program based in nearby Hermitage, TN.
Meals on Wheels strives to partner with seniors, and their families, with the goal of keeping them in their own homes as long as possible. They provide a hot, nutritious meal Monday-Friday; and their drivers also provide a friendly face to connect with and can relay any issues to emergency contacts if needed.
If you are interested in contributing to Meals On Wheels through financial donations or volunteering your time, please contact Gina Lindsay at 615-945-3165.
Our Youth Ministry provides fun activities and spiritual growth opportunities for grades 6-12. We provide weekly Bible studies during the week in addition to our normal church meetings on Sundays and Wednesdays. We also organize fun activities during the summer months that provide opportunities to build friendships as well as living as Christ through serving others. One of our favorite things to do is go to church camp. Old Hickory Bible Camp is scheduled for every summer.
