Solomon said, "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." At Old Hickory, we believe the church has a vital role to play in equipping children to lead abundant lives (John 10.10). Learn more about our Sprouts and Teen activities below.
Sprouts
Our Sprouts ministry is designed for children aged PreK – 5thgrade. Events are planned throughout the year for this age group, especially during the summer months. We love to see kids get together for fun activities, service projects and just to grow in their relationships with one another and with Christ.
All events are chaperoned by adult members of Old Hickory Church of Christ. The primary leaders of the program are Lisa Bell and Lindsey Adcox. The schedule will include fun events held at the church building, occasional off campus trips and activities that focus on serving others. A full schedule of summer activities will be made available at the beginning of the summer. Parents must complete and return a provided medical release form and a transportation permission form for children to be able to participate.

Teens
The purpose for our youth ministry is to engage, encourage, educate, expand, and Invite. All of our activities serve to promote this purpose. We organize weekend retreats, summer Bible camp, attend youth rallies that promote evangelism and healthy biblical perspectives on living and self-identity. We participate in service opportunities to assist homeless, sick, hungry and more. We host devotional times, and attend area-wide youth gatherings. Our local Bible classes are organized to promote a balanced exposure to Old Testament events and the New Testament covenant so our teens can grow in wisdom and in favor with God. We are intentional about developing a faith that developed, personal, and owned by each student so they can stand confidently in a world that looks down on Jesus followers. We provide top-of-the-line experience within our youth ministry that focuses on Jesus’ mission: to love God and others to build disciples. We hold tightly to the reality presented in 2 Timothy 3:15, “from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.”
