Camp 2024

"Raise a Hallelujah

SO YOU WANT TO GO TO CAMP?

EXCELLENT! Picking up this application is your first step to Bible camp epic-ness! We are excited that you are at least thinking about joining us for Old Hickory Bible Camp this year! If you have any questions about camp that are not covered below, please feel free to give us a call at 615-847-2386.

Please begin praying about how God is going to be changing lives during this special week!

Frequently asked questions:

WHAT HAPPENS AT CAMP?

Most importantly, there are devotionals, quality Bible classes, and activities to encourage spiritual growth.  Secondly, campers participate in exciting activities including hiking, sports, etc.  We spend lots of time having fun with Christian attitudes!

Camp will begin with a kick-off Bible class at the church building at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 22nd.  If you're going to camp, be there then.  After class, everyone will help load the trailer and vehicles, then head to Standing Stone State Park.

WHO CAN GO TO CAMP?

Old Hickory Bible Camp is for young people who have finished the second grade up through those just finishing the twelfth grade.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

The registration fee for each camper is $85.  For families with more than one camper, $80 will be the price for each additional camper.  The cost includes lodging, food, a lifetime of memories, and a camp-themed t-shirt.  You can pay online when you register or hand a check to Jimmy.  Make checks payable to the Old Hickory Church of Christ and be sure to put the camper’s name in the memo blank.

WHEN IS MY REGISTRATION FORM DUE?

ALL APPLICATIONS AND FEES ARE DUE BY SUNDAY, JUNE 30th. They will be processed in the order they are received.  Late applications will be considered, but cannot be guaranteed.  Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

WHO IS IN CHARGE OF CAMP?

Youth minister extraoridaire Jimmy Watkins will be returning as camp director.  Ted Ward and Nathan Miller will be supporting Jimmy as assistant directors.  The other staff members are carefully selected, dedicated Christians, volunteering their time so that the campers can enjoy a week of fun and spiritual growth.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

  • Your Bible, a notebook, pens/pencils
  • Bedding & Linens (pillows, sheets, blankets, towels (2-3), washcloths, )
  • Toiletries (toothbrush, DEODORANT, soap, shampoo, )
  • Flashlight and bug repellant spray
  • Baseball/softball glove and other sports equipment
  • Clothing for at LEAST 5 days, plus extra shoes in case of rain, a bathing suit, and an outfit you wouldn’t mind being ruined by a big mess.

IMPORTANT:  All shorts must be modest.  Shorts must be no more than credit-card length (3.5 inches) above knee, measured from the shortest part of the shorts.  Running shorts with slits are not allowed.

 DO NOT BRING…

  • Weapons (i.e. knives), drugs, tobacco or vaping products, alcohol, or fireworks.
  • Possession of these items = immediate dismissal.
  • Leave your cellphones, iPads, tablets, and other electronic devices at home.  If they find their way to camp, plan on them being unavailable and in the staff's possession until you leave to go home.  The point of camp is to focus on God and limit his competition for our attention.
